Leica Lux Grip - provides better control over your mobile photography
Leica now complements with hardware for the previous Leica Lux software, which includes handgrip, shutter release, and extra buttons for your iPhone's camera.
In 2024, Leica released its iPhone app Leica Lux, which allows you to change the appearance of your mobile photos by simulating bokeh from various Leica lenses, as well as different image styles.
Now Leica complements with more Lux products, this time it's the hardware connected to the app, Leica Lux Grip, which expands the camera's capabilities in your iPhone. Among other things, you can use the rotatable grip for better ergonomics, allowing it to be adjusted from portrait to landscape mode, and suitable for both left- and right-handed people.
The grip has two programmable buttons that can be programmed to use photo mode in the app. Additionally, there is a control for shutter speed and ISO sensitivity, and the shutter button has two steps - just like a camera - with focusing and exposure.
The grip uses Apple Magsafe for attachment. It can also be mounted on a tripod with the tripod mount on the underside, or used as a stand to place the camera on, for example, a table. Communication is via Bluetooth. The grip itself is powered by a battery sufficient for 1,000 photos. As an accessory, there is also a leather storage case with space for a charging cable and wiring.
Leica Lux Grip has a recommended price of 3,505 SEK including VAT. This includes a one-year subscription to the Leica Lux Pro app.
