Nikon Coolpix P1100 released: 125x zoom & 4-step image stabilization

Among the new features, we find selectable AF area, timelapse, and superlapse.

In 2018, Nikon released its monster zoom camera Nikon Coolpix P1000. With it, you could get closer, closer, and closer - something that appealed to many bird photographers.

Now Nikon is releasing its updated version Coolpix P1100, with specifications that do not differ entirely from its predecessor. Among other things, we find 4K video at 30p, a zoom range of 125x with focal lengths between 24-3,000 mm f/2.8-f/8, and a backlit sensor in 1/2.3 inches at 15.9 megapixels.

Through the Dynamic Fine Zoom function, you can achieve a zoom of 250x, equivalent to a 6000 mm focal length, and up to a 12000 mm focal length through 4x digital zoom. Dual Detect Optical (VR) allows for four stops longer shutter speed.

The P1100 also has different optimization modes depending on what you are photographing, such as the moon or birds, night photography, fireworks, or multiple exposure. New is also the ability to use the ML-L7 remote control and assign its buttons to functions including the camera's Fn button.

Features

  • 3.2-inch TFT-LCD tiltable monitor with wide viewing angle
  • Compatible with Nikon's exclusive NRW format (RAW)
  • COOLPIX Picture Control, which can be adjusted according to subject, shooting situation, and purpose
  • Creative mode

  • Support for clean HDMI output that clears the information display from the image output to an external monitor during recording
  • Ability to set noise reduction for long exposure to [Auto] or [Off]
  • Implementation of a USB Type-C input/output connector

The Nikon Coolpix P1100 will be available for sale on February 27, 2025. The recommended price is 13,990 kronor including VAT.
