Panasonic is now releasing a new camera in its S-series, this time the compact full-frame Lumix S9. The camera is equipped with the same sensor found in the Panasonic Lumix S5 II, at 24 megapixels. At the same time, the new full-frame pancake lens is also being released: Panasonic Lumix S 26mm F8.
The Lumix S9 becomes the lightest full-frame camera in the S-system, weighing 403 grams for the camera body. The camera has received the updated phase-detect autofocus, built-in image stabilization on 5 levels, and the Active IS function for image stabilization when walking, for example.

The Lumix S9 also has built-in compensation for perspective distortion, electronic image stabilization for video. New is the camera's function to record in MP4 Lite, a new mobile phone format optimized for social media, which is recorded in Open Gate 4:2:0 10-bit at 30/25p in the 3:2 format. The display screen is tiltable.
The camera can also handle custom LUT profiles that can be loaded into the camera, and the camera has a dedicated LUT button to quickly access the LUT settings. Two LUT files can be applied at the same time. Video can be recorded in 4K/30p at best.
The new Lumix Lab app allows you to create LUT profiles on your phone, which means you can skip the computer step for video management and instead use your mobile phone. Also, the speed of transfer from camera to mobile has become faster.
