Nikon Short Film Award 2025: Here is the jury - submit your entry

Sofia Kappel, Daniel Espinosa, and Nanna Blondell are the jury for this year's edition of the film competition with the theme "Better Together".

The Nikon Short Film Award 2025 is in its fourth year - and the jury includes the internationally acclaimed director Daniél Espinosa (the TV series The Helicopter Heist) as jury chairman, along with two of Sweden's most celebrated actors: Nanna Blondell (House of the Dragon, Black Widow) and Sofia Kappel (Pleasure).

The competition is about telling a story in no more than 60 seconds on the theme "Better Together". The winning entry will be shown during the Stockholm Film Festival in November 2025.

- It is both fun and an honor to once again lead the jury for the Nikon Short Film Award. We are really looking forward to seeing this year's entries and experiencing how Europe's filmmakers tackle the challenge of telling a complete story in just 60 seconds, says Daniél Espinosa.

- The Nikon Short Film Award is now in its fourth year and has grown from a newly established prize to a significant competition in the film industry. It is an honor to play a small role year after year in the future of these young filmmakers' careers, and to do so as part of our broader partnership with the Stockholm Film Festival, says Julian Harvie, Marketing Director, Nikon Northern Europe.

Under the theme Better Together, we encourage filmmakers to explore the power of community, collaboration, and human relationships - in contrast to isolation, conflict, or loneliness. How do we become stronger together? What moments, big or small, show that we function better in interaction with others?

Submissions are welcome until October 21 and should be sent to submission@stockholmfilmfestival.se.
