Fujifilm X half X-HF1 - analog feel inspired by half-frame

The new camera is inspired by analog half-frame cameras and has several features that build on the feel of analog photography.

The design of Fujifilm's new compact digital camera is inspired by classic analog half-frame cameras, but it's only the exterior - inside, the camera is digital, with a 1-inch back-illuminated sensor and a 32mm f/2.8 lens identical to the analog disposable camera QuickSnap, equivalent to 35mm in full frame.

Fujifilm X half has a movie camera mode that gives the use of the camera a more analog feel by having you as the photographer start by selecting a film simulation and the number of pictures to be taken. The taken pictures cannot be viewed until all pictures are taken, and after each picture is taken, the advance lever is used to take the next picture, just like advancing analog film.

The camera also has an optical viewfinder and shows the selected simulation on the back. The camera has 13 film simulations to choose from, as well as the ability to use new filters like "Light Leak", "Halation", and "Expired Film". The Grain Effect function with the feel of film grain is also available, a feature we also see in Fujifilm's X100 series, for example, Fujifilm X100 VI. There is also a date stamp function, which adds the date to the bottom right of pictures and video.

Images that have been taken are then transferred to the X half app where the images are displayed, edited, and can be shared further, along with contact sheets. In the app, you can also browse through still images and video.

2-in-1 images can be created by combining portrait still images and movies in the app, with the ability to change colors, the size of the dividing line, and swap the position of the images.

Fuijifilm X half weighs 240 grams and the battery should last for 880 images if you choose to use the optical viewfinder.
