Sigma Art 17-40mm F1.8 DC - versatile zoom for APS-C

The lens is released for multiple mounts, and builds on its predecessor Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art.

Sigma takes the opportunity to reduce the weight and adjust the focal length range of the now 13-year-old lens Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art. The new lens Sigma Art 17-40mm F1.8 DC has 30 percent lower weight and fits cameras with APS-C sensors for L-Mount, Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF.

The lens has fast and quiet autofocus with the help of HLA, High Response Linear Actuator, with internal zoom and aperture f/1.8 throughout the focal length range. The lens is also said to have minimal focus breathing according to Sigma themselves.

The focal length corresponds to around 25.5-60 mm in full-frame format (around 27.2-64 mm for Canon RF), is weather-sealed, and weighs 535 grams. The filter diameter is 67 mm and the minimum focusing distance is 0.28 m. The lens also has a click function for the aperture ring, making it suitable for both video and still photography, while also being lockable. The lens also has two AFL buttons and supports switching between linear and non-linear focusing with the focus ring.

Sigma Art 17-40mm F1.8 DC has a recommended price of 11,990 kronor including VAT. The lens is available in all mounts from July 10, 2025, except for the Canon RF version, which will be released in August 2025.
