Canon Powershot V1 - new vlog camera released in Asia

Canon Japan has released a new camera for the Asian market, focusing on creators and influencers.

Japanese Canon is now releasing the Canon Powershot V1 - a new camera for vloggers - but only for the Asian market. The video-focused camera thus becomes the second camera in the V-segment after Canon Powershot V10 but with a different form factor.

According to Canon Japan, the camera has a 1.4-inch sensor with a built-in lens equivalent to 16-50mm f/2.8-4.5, capability for video in 4K/60p, and specific video features such as Canon Log 3, a built-in ND filter in three steps, and its own fan.

The resolution for still images is 22.3 megapixels with the ability to shoot up to 30 images per second with an electronic viewfinder.

We are now seeing more and more cameras in the compact vlogging camera segment, and perhaps this is also a response to Sony's ZV cameras such as the Sony ZV-E1, aimed at creators and influencers who want to focus more on video content.

Whether the Canon Powershot V10 will be made available in Europe remains to be seen.
